About Me

A Chennai-based writer-designer, and have been writing letters,  for business and personal, for over 20 years. I have worked over the last 10 years to help brands express themselves better. So, if you are looking for someone to help simplify your communication and make it meaningful, do get in touch.

I started my career as a copywriter in 2009, after my Masters in Broadcast Communication. It was a stark year for the economy with recession, and all the news outlets who were my first choice had put hiring on hold. That’s when I stumbled into advertising. If you can write long features, you should be able to write long copy too, a friend quipped. And so it began.

Switching gears in terms of audience and writing styles was an interesting challenge and I was hooked!  It’s been 10 years and I’m still at it. Every day is different. And every day, I keep getting better at it. I’m also an avid reader but not necessarily of books. I’ll read anything from parking tokens and bills, to even possibilities in an alphabet soup.

I also love writing letters. I’ve written many for myself, to loved ones, and a quite a few as a ghost writer for many heads of institutions. Letters are a great way to engage people, tell stories as well as communicate facts and make it personal. Written well, they can get investors to work with you, the boss to give you a raise, and an apology feel more genuine.

I have worked with brands across many verticals, but mostly I tend to work with healthcare because that is a space that cannot be taken lightly and requires research. That being said I also enjoy creating communication for corporate, manufacturing and education. I am the black sheep of a very conservative family that is still wondering where it went wrong.

A lot of my early writing was published in a children’s weekly in Saudi Arabia. Lately though, I’ve only written for work. I did however have the privilege of having a 140 character story printed in an anthology of story tweets put together by Harper Collins.
